This is a great Spanish course that follows the same timetable as the Standard course, however it concentrates on developing an understanding of the Spanish language – elaborated from the most advanced perspective of linguistic studies – with practical exercises and requires the continual participation of the student. Thus permitting the beginner to learn a new language and put it into immediate use. From an intermediate level, you will begin to speak with fluency and correctness due to the adaptability of the method. At an advanced level the student’s language becomes more profound. All students, whatever their level, are encouraged to enjoy studying the Spanish language from the first day onwards of their course in the Spanish language school in Granada.

A long term Spanish language course in Granada, Spain also popular with Gap Year, post Uni or adult students looking to study in depth over two or more months to ensure great lingusitic progress (see Spanish methodology for further information). The programme covers the same subject matter, according to your level, as Languages for Life A, but there are a greater range of start dates available.

The programme is based around three core elements:
~ Practise based on grammar
2 classes per day
Explanation of an extract of grammar and immediate practice of exercises in real communicative situation. Correction of homework.
~ Practise and conversation based on themed units
2 classes per day
Oral and written exercises; comprehension practice –audio-visual material and analysis of documents / magazines, books, television, radio– and conversation related to the specific subjects studied.
~ Extracurricular activities (optional) 
To achieve knowledge of a language a cultural immersion is necessary. With this goal, the Spanish language school has developed more than 40 different social activities that help student integration in tp Spanish life in Granada.  These activities are very varied: spanish movies, themed evenings, musical evenings, trips, visits, parties, sports, 'tapas time', 'paella' nights ...

Standard Spanish Course

A short term Spanish course aimed at those who need to build on current Spanish language skills or who want to lear Spanish in Granada as a beginner, with an immersion course.

The Standard Course offers an intensive Spanish language course designed for anyone interested in starting their studies or in improving their communicative skills. Contents, goals and teaching methods are geared to the communicative needs and the competence level of the students. The method is based on continuous practice.
A programme with 4 lessons per day. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until a break at 11:15 a.m. The first two lessons consist of in-depth study of specific aspects of grammar and oral practice. After the 30 minute break ('coffee time') the final two lessons consist of oral and written activities: comprehension practice – audio-visual material and analysis of documents (magazines, books, television, radio) and conversational time related to the specific subjects studied during the morning. Classes end at 1:40 p.m. Practical exercises and constant participation of the student are guaranteed in all courses, in order to improve his/her Spanish oral expression and other core Spanish language skills: listening, reading and writing.

Intensive Spanish Course

The basic outline of this Spanish programme follows the Standard Course profile (see methodology), but with the addition of two further classes per day, the first class and the last one are used to focus on specific Spanish language points: of most importance to the students: conversation, comprehension, grammar, pronunciation, etc. This is a challenging Spanish language course aimed at those who are more ambitious and wish to take advantage of additional classes or for those who have less time at their disposal to spend in Granada, Spain studying Spanish.

Combined Spanish Course

A short term course aimed at those who want the combined study experience of the camaraderie of the group course (generally the Standard Course), with the individual attention of the Spanish private classes in Granada, with a personal tutor.

Society & Culture Course

This cultural course aims to give students a fully rounded knowledge of present day Spain, drawing from the following elements; politics, economics, society, culture (covering art, design, fashion, cinema, music, bull fights and sport) and modern media.
This course is complemented by the following activities, the programme of which is adjusted to suit the topics covered in class:
• Debates
• Video projection
• Musical and radio listening sessions
• Organisation of exhibitions and attendance at others
• Lectures given by specialists of the subjects dealt with
• Films

• INTRODUCTION :
Spain and its environment. Historic  summary.  Administrative Political division (autonomies/historic regions).

Agriculture, industry, tourism.   Terrorism, unemployment, crime.

Spanish Literature Course

A short term Spanish literature course in Granada, best suited as an addition to the Spanish Standard Course, aiming to give students an overview of Spanish literature focusing on two different periods generally over a 2 week period;
~ The Golden Age (Cervantes, Quevado, Calderon, Lope)
~ Latter years of the 15th century (Gaidos & Clarin)
~ Realism & Generation 98 (Baroja, Unamunti, Azorin, Machado, Inclan)
~ Early 20th Century & Civil War (J.R.Jimenez, Lorca & Salinas).

Business Spanish Course

Prepares students for the MCCI exams. 

A demanding Spanish Business course offered by the Spanish school in Granada, that aims to give students the opportunity to deepen and polish their Spanish skills with a strong emphasis on business language requirements.
~ Drawing on authentic documents and media relating to the economic and business world.
~ Covering commercial correspondence, business vocab practise, text analysis and planned conversations chosen from the following topics; marketing, publicity, tourism, taxes, commerce, finance & foreign investments.

Spanish DELE Course
1 to 8 weeks Spanish DELE programme

Specific DELE classes offered in conjunction with the Spanish Standard Course in Granada, aimed at those students preparing for the DELE exams in May, August and November of each year.

Levels catered for:
~ DIPLOMA DE ESPAÑOL (Nivel Inicial)
Intermediate-mid / Threshold level
This accredits sufficient knowledge of the language to allow control in situations which require an elementary use of the language.
~ DIPLOMA DE ESPAÑOL (Nivel Intermedio)
High-intermediate level.
This accredits the neccessary knowledge of the language to allow communication in everyday situations which do not require specialized terms.
~ DIPLOMA DE ESPAÑOL (Nivel Superior)
Superior level.
This which accredits an advanced knowledge of the language allowing communicaton in all situations requiring advanced use of the language and a knowledge of cultural background.

Spanish & Skiing Course
2, 3 or 4 weeks Spanish language course duration (Jan/Feb/Mar)

Includes a 5 day lift pass.

A short term Spanish course aimed at those who need to build on current skills or who want to kick start their language learning from scratch with a group course in Spanish for one week followed by a further week on the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada with a Spanish teacher. If the ski-centre is closed or there is no access to it, Spanish lessons will be held in lieu.
When skiing, transport is arranged to/from the slopes. Lessons with a ski instructor can be arranged at extra cost. Ski equipment can be hired (at extra cost). If private household accommodation is booked, hosts will provide a picnic lunch for the slopes. Additional language course weeks can be booked prior to/or post the skiing week, as required.

Spanish & Horse Riding Course
2 weeks Spanish language course duration

A short term Spanish language course aimed at those who need to build on current skills or who want to learn Spanish in Granada from scratch on a group course in Spanish with afternoon riding lessons.

~ Beginners and intermediate riding levels:
prep and saddling the horse, training in the paddock, position, equilibrium and horse control, adjustment of stirrups etc, walking and riding in the open field and the basic difference between classic and cowboy riding.
~ Expert level:
Mountain excursion and training in open field and paddock work. Two hour horse riding sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and the first Thursday and two hour sessions on the second Tuesday/ Wednesday and four hour session on the second Thursday (although some sessions maybe transfered to Saturday AM).

Spanish Private Tuition Course

An extremely intensive Spanish language course, ideal for those who wish to make maximum progress over a one or two+ week period in a Spanish language school in Granada. Aimed at business people or those who need to work on their Spanish for academic or professional reasons, for whom time is of the essence.
